A court docket in Gandhinagar in Gujarat on Monday held jailed self-styled godman Asaram responsible in a 2013 rape case through which he and 6 others have been arraigned as accused.
The quantum of Punishment will probably be introduced tomorrow (Tuesday).
The court docket acquitted six different accused, together with Asaram’s spouse, because of the lack of proof.
As per the FIR lodged at Chandkheda police station in Ahmedabad, Asaram Bapu allegedly raped the girl on a number of events from 2001 to 2006 when she was residing at his ashram on the outskirts of town.
“The court docket has accepted the prosecution case and convicted Asaram underneath sections 376 2(C) (rape), 377 (unnatural offences) and different provisions of the Indian Penal Code for unlawful detention, amongst others,” particular public prosecutor RC Kodekar stated on Monday.
